It's a tough decision for some women when it comes to changing their name post nuptials--they've gotten used to it after having the same name their entire life! Portia de Rossi is considering changing her name after marrying talk show host Ellen DeGeneres over the weekend, according to WENN. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their Beverly Hills, California home on Saturday, August 16, after California lifted its ban on gay marriage. Arrested Development star de Rossi plans to keep her maiden name for now but may soon be tempted to take her new bride's second name. She tells People magazine, 'I may do it in the future, but I don't think I'm going to do it right now.' Since it is a same sex marriage some may ask why DeGeneres doesn't offer to change her name. DeGeneres must've predicted this question insisting it would be far too expensive for her to switch to de de Rossi : 'If I changed my name to hers, the Telepicture (DeGeneres' productions company) would have to change a lot of signs.' She joined the coverage of her weekend nuptials by addressing her fans on the Web site of her syndicated TV show. 'I had a big weekend,' writes the Ellen DeGeneres Show host, 50. 'I got married to Portia de Rossi! Sorry, John Stamos ... this one's taken.' Pointing out the cursive-script-style of her message as it appears on her site (accompanied by a photo of the couple), Ellen writes, 'You may notice something different about the way I'm writing ... it's fancy. This is the font I type in now that I'm MARRIED!' Keeping up the humor, she also says, 'I do a lot of things differently now ... I say, 'I do' a lot. For example: Who wants to do pilates? I do. Would you like a Mountain Dew? I do. Do you know why I pulled you over? I do. And that was just this morning.' |

And so this was the choice that I made, and it was a tough one,' says the actress. The Samantha Who? star is now scheduled to undergo reconstructive surgery to repair her breast tissue over the next eight months. But Applegate, whose mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor, remains in good spirits--despite having to go back under the knife.
